"No more light"

I cannot help but wonder..
Why is it that we always push on?
Why fight harder and harder when the outcome is always the same?
With your make ups and multi-digit paying jobs
You work your entire life to make yourself the best
When in the end we are all the same
Never in an never ending cycle, of never ending pain and suffering
Do we stop and reward ourselves
Those that do are referred to as bums..Immature..What have you.

You have to stop and ask yourself though
What’s it worth?
There is nothing left to fight for anymore
You don’t have to kill your food
Don’t have to kill for freedom
So why do we let life go on as it is?
Darkness swamps me down to the ground
But I don’t want to push it off
I love it, live it, breathe it in
It’s everything to me
Never mind going towards the light
This cold darkness suit’s me just fine

After the end of the beginning and the madness circles us all
We try to find the light at the end of the tunnel
Our one last home for peace and salvation
But why go towards the light?
The darkness is so much more comfortable
Holding you and gripping you like an old lover
Anonymous is the game, a way to be in some old incredibly shameful world
Swimming naked in the mud of deceit I cannot help but think
I cannot help but to say to you..
You should really ask yourself
Why run towards the light?
The darkness is so much more comforting

No more does the thought of heaven soothe the child
Now it’s nothing more then a boring story
Shock and awe is complete..
Enough have devoted their lives to a book
Written by man
Let us live, our lives of darkness and hopelessness
It’s so much more comfortable down here.
